Rachael Scherf
Rachael, or Oiseau as she is more commonly known, is a well-seasoned traveller and writer. The Adventures of Alfie Biscuit, Digby & Hot Socks is loosely based on her alter egos: the explorer, the professor and the frivolous clown.
A mother of two sons, she now resides in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa, where the surfing adventure of Book Two happens right on her doorstep.
Every page is illustrated by hand by Jane Pitchford, whose painted seas and ink-line characters give the series its heart.
